Think I'm on, finally....
Haven't had much time for recreational reading lately, so I'll go with a few books I have. I know some of you are taking art lessons, and I have three great books for watercolor. The first and best is
MAKING COLOR SING, Practical Lessons in Color and Design by Jeanne Dobie, AWS. This is an awesome 'how to' for creating the colors on paper that you see in your mind. Luscious.
JOHN PIKE PAINTS WATERCOLORS. This is an older artist, deceased. When I first started, I ran accross a book of his in the library, and he was so friendly. That book was out of print, but I got a later one which is really good for darks and lights, blocking your paper so the picture you see fits into it, and demonstrations of how he "built" his paintings.
LEARN WATERCOLOR THE EDGAR WHITNEY WAY... I didn't spend as much time with this book...some different techniques, lovely examples. I think I was already rolling with the other two and bought this one on impulse.
